President of the Student Representative Council (SRC) of Oxford Institute of Business and Journalism, Master Wilson Azaaba, has called on students to help the academic facility out of its depressing financial situation by paying school fees.
Wilson Azaaba during a general meeting with the student body held on Thursday, November 7, 2019, indicated that management of the school relies on their school fees to run most of the activities of the school including teachers' salaries hence the need to pay the fees.
Although the SRC president did not reveal the number of students, and how much they owe, he said the situation has affected the Student Representative Council as well.
According to him, most students have not paid their SRC dues, a situation he said has led the council unable to undertake activities that the student body is entitled to enjoy under the SRC.
"Students are not really helping in the paying of the school fees and SRC dues. This has become very hard for the student to enjoy what they deserve to have on campus such as WiFi, src programs, among others," he said.
Master Wilson bemoaned the widow's mite of money left in the coffers of the previous SRC administration, stating that it was not worth mentioning to the student body.
"When I was elected into power, the money left in the SRC coffers was something really bad which I can't talk of," he said.
Master Wilson advised students to try as much as possible to pay their school fees and SRC dues to the SRC treasurer. Miss Saraphina Quacoe and ensure that they get their receipts.
