President of the Student Representative Council of the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST), Adu Baah Charles Jnr. has been assaulted by some miscreants.

The incident happened in the early hours of Sunday, September 29, 2019.

Master Adu-Baah Charles Junior was harassed, assaulted and nearly kidnapped. He was ambushed around the Animal Science Department, in what looked like a kidnap into a taxi and driven to a popular food joint close to Rakho School, Kotei, where the harassment ensued.

The miscreants involved in the unlawful activities have been identified as alumni of Unity Hall popularly known as CONTI namely; Godfred Owusu Afriyie popularly known as “Illuminati”, Adongo Kennedy, Stephen Oppong K. Nkrumah, Bernard Anokye also known as “Toski”, Samuel Antwi Poakuah popularly known as ” Continental Sparrow”, Agyemang and others

The reasons for the attack are still unclear, but the SRC said it is working hard to find out upon further probe.

The KNUST SRC has also promised to push for major security shake-up to its students on campus and seek justice after their president.

Some other KNUST SRC Executives were also assaulted.


How it all happened.
  • On Friday, 27th September 2019, some student leaders were physically assaulted between the hours of 21:00 and 23:00.

  • The Deputy Chief of Staff, Gideon Amo-Agyei, Emmanuel Adomako – Nyantakyi, TekTalk Chairperson were the appointees assaulted on Friday evening. The assault came after the two visited Unity Hall during their first Morale session for the semester.

  • The following day, Saturday, 28th September 2019, SRC Properties Commissioner, Arkarfie Emmanuel was also assaulted and his phone taken as well. We can also confirm that the SRC Financial Secretary, Maxwell Boakye Danso encountered a similar situation some weeks ago.

  • Two Unity Hall Executives in the persons of Clement Ayidaana (General Secretary) and Dennis Appiah Kumah (Entertainment Chairperson) were assaulted on Saturday evening.

  • The series of assaults brought us to the very much unfortunate incident which occurred in the early hours of Sunday 29th September 2019.
  • The cases have been reported to the KNUST Police Station, KNUST Security Services and progressively to the Office of Dean of Students for investigation and further action.
